Once your accounts are connected, your homepage continually refreshes itself. You have control over the way your content is presented since you can rearrange, delete or edit individual items. You can also invite others to collaborate on your page.

Right now it’s still in Beta and is FREE to all users. They will eventually offer paid individual and corporate accounts, but will always have a free version.

New Facebook Timeline for Business Pages: 10 Things You Need to Know Before March 30, 2012

Ever changing Facebook has now introduced Timeline for Business Pages. You have this month to play with it before Facebook automatically converts all business pages on the 30th. You may choose to turn on the new Timeline at any point before March 30th. However, it might be a good idea to play with and preview it first. Figure out which changes you’ll make and how to make them while letting Facebook work out any bugs in the system.

1. Cover Image

This can be a branded image or photograph and can be changed out whenever you like. It cannot include your website address, any promotion or call to action, or any contact information that would be in your About box. See complete list of restrictions here: http://on.fb.me/zHf7rD.

Cover image size 850px X 315px

2. Profile Pic

Your profile pic will be your avatar when you are posting on Facebook as your business page. If your business is branded and known by your logo, it’s a good idea to use the logo as your profile pic for brand recognition. If you are your business, you might consider using your photo as your profile pic. Your profile image size is 180px X 180px and shrinks to 32×32 as the thumbnail.

3. Direct Messaging

Now anyone connected to your page can send you a private, direct message through Facebook without posting the comment publicly. You will see the message in your new admin panel.

4. Visible Navigation

No sidebar on the left anymore with all your tabs. Now you can show up to four links right at the top. Facebook does not allow you to control the first one – it will always be Photos. You can control the next three. And if you have more than four, the little dropdown button allows people to find the rest. New dimensions are 111px X 74px.

5. Contact Info and About

Now this is visibly featured in the box directly under your profile pic.

6. Friends

Friends are prominently displayed on the top of your page.

7. Pinning (not to be confused with Pinterest)

Now you can “pin” a specific post at the top of your page for up to seven days at a time. Helpful if you are running a promotion. “Pin it” at the top for greatest visibility.

8. Highlighting

Hover over a post and click on the star. This will highlight your post and change the dimension to the full width of the page. A good way to make a particular post stand out or highlight a milestone in your business.

9. Timeline and Milestones

Just like the timeline for personal pages, you will be able to share the life cycle of your business. Upload some photos, tie timeline dates to them and begin sharing your story.

10. Administration

Your Admin Panel is displayed at the top of your page (only you can see it) and you can admin without going to a different page.
